Brief Biographical Sketch:

New to photography, and want to get started? Like taking photos, but wish you were better at it? Experienced photographer, but want to improve your skills? Whatever your skill level this class is for you!
Each student will learn to harness their own creative photographic potential through a hands on class where students will practice everything their taught. The beginning of class will be inside, after which students will partner up and head outside for the rest of the session. It's strongly recommended that each student brings a camera (any kind will do, but something other than a phone camera is preferable). If you don't have a camera, don't worry! The instructor will bring his own camera for you to share.
Topics covered will include camera basics (such as depth of field, shutter speed, aperture, iso, and exposure compensation), as well as photography essentials (such as lighting, perspective, framing, portraits, nature, action shots, and much more!).
By end of class you'll be ready to show off your new skills to all your friends!

Like taking pictures, but wish you could capture your ideas better?
Want to be the next Ansel Adams or Andy Warhol?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the class for you!
Student's will learn from scratch how to conceive, compose, and capture photographs that they will be proud to show off to their friends and family. The class will be 1 part indoors, and 2 parts outdoor practice. Classes are limited to 8 students, so every student gets personalized attention and instruction. No experience required what so ever.
What to bring? To ensure that each student gets the most out of the class, please bring your own camera, any kind other than an iPhone is totally fine.
Don't have a camera? No problem, the teacher will provide his own camera for those student's who don't bring a camera to share.
H1253: Introduction to Photography in Splash! Spring 2011 (Apr. 16 - 17, 2011)
Curious about photography? Wish you could take eye-poping and memorable pictures, but feel like you can't or don't know how? Then this is the class for you! Introduction to Photography will teach you the tools and ideas you need, no matter what your experience level, to bring your photographic ideas to life.
Student's will learn by doing through a fun series of exercises that cover many essential elements of digital photography. Topics will include: framing & composition, lighting & exposure, aperture & shutter speed, motion, and even black and white photography.
You will be taking lots of pictures during class, so please do your best to bring a camera. Any type of digital camera will do. If you don't have one or forget, don't sweat it! A camera will be provided for those students to share.
H1166: Introduction to Photography in Splash! Fall 2010 (Nov. 13 - 14, 2010)
An introduction to getting the most out of your camera, whether it be a compact or a SLR. Topics covered will include composition, depth of field, shutter speed, aperture, iso, and exposure compensation. The course will be very hands on and each student will learn to harness their creative photographic potential. It is recommended that each student brings a camera, but the instructor will supply a camera to be shared for students that cannot bring their own. Each student should bring walking shoes, if weather permits, we will be going outside.
