Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a 1st year PhD student at Stanford. I am interested in studying coral reefs to better understand and protect them as climate change impacts worsen. I get to travel for my research (so far I've gone to Palau, which is near the Philippines), which adds extra fun and unpredictability to my studies. I am a passionate marine conservationist and love talking to all types of people about how important the oceans are for the earth and for humans. I want to get as many people excited about marine biology as I can. The more people who care, the more work we can all do to protect these resources. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors (hiking, camping, going to beaches) and trying adventurous things (from cliff jumping to experimenting with local foods).
