Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a PhD Candidate in the Basin and Petroleum System Modeling Group (BPSM). I am interested in using integrated multidisciplinary approach for unraveling geohistories of sedimentary basins and petroleum systems. My current work in the North Slope of Alaska focuses on source rock geochemistry, environment of deposition interpretation, petroleum system analysis, and basin modeling. My project incorporates field observations, subsurface data interpretation, and laboratory work.

An introduction to the geology of the rocks that produce oil and how we find them. This class will cover the basics of sedimentology, petroleum systems geology, and seismic petroleum exploration.


R5497: Geology of Oil in Splash Spring 2017 (Apr. 22 - 23, 2017)
An introduction to the geology of the rocks that produce oil and how we find them. This class will cover the basics of sedimentology, petroleum systems geology, and seismic petroleum exploration. Although not required, we recommend that students taking this class also consider taking "All About Oil," which will provide a more technical coverage of the chemistry of petroleum systems, the carbon cycle and production engineering.
