Brief Biographical Sketch:

Carlos Medina is a PhD Candidate in the Immunology Program at Stanford University. His research focuses on allergic airway inflammation and asthma. His work utilizes extracellular matrix components to enhance the effects of anti-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-10, and promote tissue-resident memory regulatory T cells. At Stanford, he has served as a core member of the Diversity Advocacy Committee, social chair and recruitment chair of the Immunology program, and financial officer, vice president, and current president of the Biomedical Association for the Interest of Minority Students (BioAIMS). He is a New York City native and holds a BS in biology from Tufts University.
