Brief Biographical Sketch:

Born in Southeast China, I immigrated to NYC when I was 6 years old. I attended a public high school in Manhattan (Stuyvesant HS) and attended MIT to study Mechanical Engineering. I spent plenty of time during my years at MIT exploring a variety of fun subjects and traveling as well! I often tell people that my best year at MIT was the year I spent studying Chinese abroad in Beijing.

After graduating with my BS in Mechanical Engineering, I interned at a French automotive company in Paris for half a year before freelancing in NYC and later working as a design engineer at a cardiovascular device company in Minnesota. After 3.3 years of working, I quit my job so that I can do biomechanical research at Stanford University.

At Stanford I investigate how stem cells differentiate (or not) into cartilage cells. I also take advantage of the multitude of amazing classes and people around me to learn as many interesting things as I can!
