Brief Biographical Sketch:
Chana Lanter is a junior studying Linguistics, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. She is passionate about humanizing death and destigmatizing greif. While alive ;) she is active in the observant Jewish community on campus and loves embroidery. We are mortal beings, and this experience of being mortal is a central part of what it is to be human. In this course, we'll discuss various ways human beings have thought about living and dying using literary and philosophical texts. This course is an opportunity to explore serious topics like the loss of our loved ones and the meaning of life in a warm and open space. As we discuss these important and often difficult topics, we will make sure the classroom space is welcoming and respectful to all students.
